Jeff did an all right job. He had all the right answers to make the company and the previous Gary and his helper look good. Unfortunately, the problem I'm having is my own problem. The companies 2 year warranty is only good if everything is okay on the first visit. First visit was very long, expensive. The mechanism for Flushing acted up about a month later and so they had to come back and it was Gary and his helper and Gary rebuilt the mechanism. A month later they acted up again and then Jeff came out. And that's when everything in my house is wrong and it would cost me close to $1,000 to have them straighten it up so that my toilet would flush right. I've been in my house for 50 years and I've never had this problem before. I don't know if it's because of the equipment that's being put in. So the two star rating is not so much against Jeff as it is against the company and their policies. First time I have used by others and it will be the last. And my recommendation to anyone would be don't don't hire Brothers.

To be sure of correct sizing and a proper installation, choose a reputable contractor who will take the time to calculate your heating needs according to an industry standard such as in "Manual J HVAC Residential Load Calculation" of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America. Such calculations take into account the climate and the size, design, and construction of your house. Once the furnace is installed, maintain it regularly according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Our survey helped to confirm this advice. When we asked about the most common reasons for service calls for furnaces, contractors cited human error, inadequate maintenance, for example, or improper installation, twice as often as defective equipment. Read our frequency of repair report for which brands or the most and least reliable.
Keeping too many heat registers closed can cause heat to build up in your furnace, forcing air out of duct leaks and requiring the blowers to compensate for the added pressure. Essentially, blocking heating vents causes your furnace to work harder and longer than it is intended to work. Further, it forces air pressure to build up in your air ducts, which may both cause and worsens airflow leaks — particularly at joints and seams. Pros recommend keeping at least 80 percent of your heating registers open to prevent unnecessary air from building up in your furnace.
Getting the most from your air conditioner means more than just adjusting the temperature so often. While today’s air conditioners are increasingly reliable and they often last for years upon years, they must be routinely taken care of by a professional air conditioning maintenance technician if they are to function as intended. With our air conditioning maintenance in Federal Way, WA, your system is in good hands.

Inspect your furnace thermostat by first making sure that it’s turned on. Also, ensure that the thermostat switch is turned to “heat” and not “cool”. If your furnace will still not start with the thermostat on, try adjusting the temperature settings to a few degrees higher. Inspect any visible wires for breaks or splits, and make sure your thermostat batteries are not dead. Do not touch any open wires; contact a professional.
If you need a furnace repaired or an air conditioner serviced, we'll send a local technician out to diagnose the specific problem and recommend solutions for you and your family. There will be a diagnostic fee for the visit, and any specific repairs will be an additional charge. If replacing your system is the best solution, the fee for the diagnosis will be credited toward the purchase and install of a new system.

This job involves removing the access panel, loosening a couple of bolts that hold the blower motor at the proper tension, and adjusting its distance or realigning the belt. In many cases, it’s a good idea to remove the belt and buy a replacement at a home center. Last, when reinstalling the belt, be careful not to over-tighten it; this can wear out the motor bearings.

There is no denying the popularity of furnaces as a heating system option. There is a reason that gas furnaces are so ubiquitous. In fact, there are several. Natural gas furnaces in Seattle, WA are prevalent because they are efficient, reliable, and effective. Schedule your gas furnace installation, repair and maintenance with a member of our team.
If your furnace needs to be repaired, you’ll want to find a qualified heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) repair technician. Each state has its own licensing requirements; some require all HVAC technicians to have an HVAC license, while others only require someone operating an HVAC service and installation company with employees to hold a contractor’s license. For example, in Alabama, the Alabama Board of Heating Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Contractors regulates licensing, while in Kansas there is no state regulatory body and HVAC licensing can vary by region. For simple furnace repairs like changing out a filter, a trusted handyman can probably handle the job, but a trained professional should be hired for tasks like replacing a gas valve, installing a new inducer fan motor or other critical furnace repair jobs that involve dealing with gas leaks or other dangerous conditions. As you decide, insist that the contractor select models in a range of efficiencies and calculate the annual estimated operating cost of each model you're considering, rather than simply estimating it. The contractor can complete those calculations by plugging information on each unit's AFUE and electrical consumption, local utility rates, and characteristics of your home into one of several computer programs designed to easily calculate estimates. Make sure that the quotes also include the cost of any changes to venting required by any appliances in the home.
No matter how well you take care of your system, there will come a time when it simply runs out of gas. When your heater cannot be restored with repair work, our team will replace your old system with a new, energy-efficient unit. Working with all makes and models, our comfort specialists have access to the most superior, affordable and effective heating systems on the market.
