Great service, Brandon did a job great job explaining eveything he was doing and showed me all issues and concerns I may have had beyond my initial problem of a clogged drain that responded to. He also did a great job in resolving my repair needs and installation of needed parts to maintain our AC unit. I now have a AC person I trust and can rely on for the future for both repair and maintenance. Thank you Brandon and A team Mechanical for the prompt response and after hour service.
My furnace thermostat stopped working, and when I called Dehlia answered the phone and set up an appointment. They charged less for a diagnostic call than larger companies. They are actively licensed, bonded and insured. Verne arrived 2 days later, explained what was broken in my 17 year old furnace and gave me an estimate and time of replacement for a new furnace. Dehlia confirmed via email and phone, and Don and Zack showed up as promised on time a week later and replaced my Bryant 90i furnace with a new Rheem 96% efficient 2 stage Variable speed 85,000btu gas furnace Model #R96VA0852521 and provided me with the paperwork warranty and removed the old one. Cost was $5,394.90 including tax. I gave up on trying to get 2 more estimates because every furnace company wants $125 to $200 to come out to do a diagnostic and this company wanted $75 to come out to look at it although admittedly they just took a look at it and said it was broken and repair would be $2 to $3k and should just get a new one (this fee was waived when I agreed to buy a new furnace from them). They also said it was possible I could find cheaper installation elsewhere, but I was freezing in December and I just wanted heat and other companies were 2 to 3 weeks out for an appointment. They were pleasant to chat with as they worked and Don updated a convoluted furnace exhaust piping system. They accept cash and check after a job is finished with no deposit up front and are clear that 3% is added if you pay via credit card. Overall I am happy with my new furnace although I sure wish I could've replaced it myself to save some money.

There’s a common misconception that you can save money by shutting the vents (supply registers) in rooms that aren’t being utilized. Resist the urge to close too many, as doing so can actually increase the pressure in your furnace, making it work harder to heat your home. This can lead to failed blower motors, mold or mildew in your ductwork, damage to the compressor, a cracked heat exchanger, and other problems. What Does a Furnace Tune-Up Include?
Whether you have an electric or gas furnace, you shouldn’t have to suffer when your heater is not working. At Sears Home Services, our technicians fix many of the top furnace manufacturers. The issues you may face with your furnace can vary depending on the type of heating system. If you own an electric model and it isn’t working, some of the potential causes include:
Yes. You should expect to pay a diagnostic fee to cover the cost of the technician's visit, the diagnosis of your air conditioner's problem, and a quote for the repair options. You will be advised of the issue along with recommended options to correct it, which may include a system replacement if your unit is old or significantly damaged. If you decide to replace the system, the diagnostic fee will be credited toward your replacement purchase.

The motor belt should be firm, giving no more than ½ inch when pressed. It should also be free of cracks and damage. To remove the belt, you will need a wrench and a replacement belt. Loosen, do not remove, the motor bolts. You only need them loose enough to move the motor and slacken the belt. Remove the belt and inspect it, replacing it with a new one if necessary. Belt: $4.00 to $6.00.
Your furnace's flame sensor is essentially a safety mechanism. As a thin metallic rod in front of the flame inside the unit, it's sole purpose is to confirm that your gas valves only open when a flame actually exists to burn that gas. When the flame sensor stop working, on the other hand, gas leaks can occur. To repair your furnace's flame sensor, expect to spend between $80 and $250. Even a full replacement of this part typically does not go above that range.

When your furnace isn’t regularly serviced it can operate less efficiently. This increases your energy bills and also prevents your furnace from keeping your home as warm as you like. Keep your furnace properly maintained with regular service. The national average furnace service cost is between $60 and $80. Companies may offer tuneup specials that cover all the necessary testing, tightening, measuring and cleaning to keep your equipment running at top efficiency. If you have a newer system, furnace service costs may be covered by your warranty. Outside of warranty, a basic tuneup might start at $58 and a more advanced maintenance cleaning could be over $120. Here are some signs your furnace may need service:
Keeping too many heat registers closed can cause heat to build up in your furnace, forcing air out of duct leaks and requiring the blowers to compensate for the added pressure. Essentially, blocking heating vents causes your furnace to work harder and longer than it is intended to work. Further, it forces air pressure to build up in your air ducts, which may both cause and worsens airflow leaks — particularly at joints and seams. Pros recommend keeping at least 80 percent of your heating registers open to prevent unnecessary air from building up in your furnace.
Given the broad price ranges above, it's easy to recognize that the cost of your furnace repair varies drastically based on which parts need attention. As a result, it makes sense to gain a better understanding of the parts that heat your home, and how much they cost to repair. Repairing or replacing your furnace’s blower motor can cost you anywhere between $150 and $450, depending on the extent of the damage. Heat exchanger repair costs can vary greatly, from as little as $100 for a simple fix to as much as $1,200 for a full replacement. Repairing a furnace igniter will only cost you $300 at most, while flame sensor repairs generally fall between $80 to $250. The average cost to repair your Thermostat will range from $108 to $282.

Natural gas furnaces operate similarly to the above, using a pilot light to ignite the burners and heat up the air. Also similar to propane gas, your average repair costs for a natural gas furnace will range anywhere from $125 for small repairs to $1,200 if you have to replace the entire heat exchanger. The difference between both options is not necessarily the actual furnace, but the type of gas used to burn through it and heat your home. As a result, the repair costs tend to be close to identical.
