But even if your system is not yet at its breaking point, there are other reasons to consider professional air conditioning replacement service in Federal Way, WA. For example, if you find that your AC is highly inefficient because of its age or damage, then it may make more financial sense to invest in a new system so that you can take advantage of today’s energy efficient technology.

Rheem manufactures and markets gas central furnaces that are available in single and multistage configurations, with some models capable of an AFUE rating of more than 90 percent. Some units meet Energy Star requirements. The average price of a Rheem central gas furnace is about $2,300 and Rheems are sold through their dealer network. Rheem products are made by the same manufacturer as Ruud.
Seattle furnaces can run nine months of the year. Based on the average temperatures in our area, if you compared running your furnace to a car it would get the equivalent of 1.8 million miles over its expected lifespan of 15 years. Your heating system will work hard for you, but like your car, doing routine and regular maintenance will keep it running smoothly, avoid problems, and keep your warranty intact.
Any forced air system in your home - whether it is powered through electric or gas-generated energy - requires a blower motor. This component consists of an electric motor and fan, and is responsible for pushing air evenly through the furnace. As hvac.com points out, you can easily identify the blower motor in your furnace as the part that looks similar to a hamster wheel at the bottom of the unit. If it stops working, the air needed to heat your home will no longer be pushed through the furnace to be heated and distributed evenly. In that case, you need to inquire about potential repairs. Blower motor repair typically costs between $150 for a simple fix, and $450 for complete replacement and installation of the part. Where you land on that range depends on the exact damage.

Wife and I bought a fixer-upper last year. One of the issues it had was a lack of heating for the house. I called Affordable Furnace Repair and they sent Don out. He checked on the furnace and found one of the heating elements had gone bad. He fixed it quickly and we had a warm winter. Plus we got a box of filters for cheap from him, all around good service.
Has another company told you that your furnace has a cracked heat exchanger?  The heat exchanger is the heart of your furnace. Its failure can result in a dangerous situation for your home and the best solution is usually a new furnace.  Because of these issues, Bonney takes this situation very seriously.  We will offer you proof of the cracked heat exchanger in the form of a picture from our video inspection camera or a report from our exhaust gas analyzer, before we make our recommendation.

We are so happy we selected Clarence with CAL Property Care to repair our furnace. He was very easy to schedule an appointment with and actually came out on a Saturday to figure out what the issue was. Clarence had to order a part to complete the repair, but he promptly updated us with the progress every step of the way. Clarence really went above and beyond and I can't say enough for his friendly attitude and quality of work! Thanks again Clarence!

• If your furnace is inside the house, it may be located in an area that is magnifying the sound it makes – such as under a staircase. Often moving the furnace to another part of the house can reduce that noise. You may find that it’s in an area that was previously occupied by another older type of furnace, and you never heard those sounds from that one. Please keep in mind that modern furnaces are built differently – with multiple speeds and stages – which may create different sounds and require more airflow than your old ductwork has available. If the furnace doesn’t get enough air, it gets cranky.

Heat pumps that wring heat from outdoor air (and reverse the process in summer to act as an air conditioner) are inexpensive to install as an alternative to a cooling-only air-conditioning system. That makes them the preferred way to heat in the South and Southwest, where winters are typically short and mild. Heat pumps that wring heat from the ground are much more expensive to install, but they are suitable for cold climates because they can maintain their operating efficiency. Other inexpensive electric-heat options include strip heaters, which are installed in the ductwork of central air conditioning, and permanently installed baseboard units in each room. But before you consider any type of electric central heating in colder regions, keep in mind that electricity rates are much higher than those for natural gas and are likely to remain that way for the foreseeable future. You can get rate information for various fuels from local utilities and suppliers.

If you have an older furnace with a standing pilot light, it’s possible that the pilot light has been extinguished. First, confirm that the light is out. Then, turn the gas valve to the off position and wait five minutes. If there is a reset button on your furnace, turn the valve to the pilot position and hold a flame to the dedicated pilot opening while pushing the button for about 30 seconds. (If the pilot doesn’t light on the first attempt, wait a few minutes and repeat the procedure, this time depressing the reset button for 45-60 seconds.) Once the pilot is lit, turn the gas valve back to the on position. If the pilot light won’t stay lit, it’s possible that there is an issue with the thermocouple or ignition system. Call an HVAC professional for assistance.
