If your thermostat has a small lever that moves along a calibrated scale that indicates “longer” (not the heat temperature lever), you can try adjusting this—the heat anticipator. Just set it one calibration mark closer to the “longer” setting if the furnace goes off and on too frequently or one mark away if the furnace allows room temperature to rise too high or drop too low before going on or off. It may take several hours for the thermostat to stabilize at this setting, so wait a while and then adjust it again if necessary.
We can make certain that the root of the problem is eliminated because we know important it is to have a good air conditioner in your home, especially when the heat begins to rise. I'd had them come out before and called because my thermostat wasn't getting power. They said they don't service townhomes. I said that must be a new policy because they've been out before and she said they've had it for awhile. I tried to ask why they don't service townhomes and she said they don't service attached homes or commercial properties. I said that my home isn't commercial and it doesn't really answer my question, but I guess I'll go elsewhere. I couldn't find this policy on their website and I can't really understand why a townhome furnace would be different than an unattached home. When they came out before I seem to remember they did a good job, so it's too bad they have odd policies now.

I really appreciated the great same-day service provided by Chris H, Swan Plumbing & Heating's technician today. I made an appointment to get an estimate on the water heater replacement, and expected to make another appointment for the installation. But Chris came prepared with all the equipment needed, and replaced our leaking water heater in a very efficient manner within about 2 hours.
I can't say enough about Hassan. He is a heart of gold and we love his outlook on taking care of customers. He's honest and knows exactly what he is doing, not pretending and just pulling things apart going back and forth puzzled. He even wanted to check our unit in the attic to make sure it was safe. He puts his customers first! It was late but he still drove an hour to fix our furnace. My wife felt completely safe with him and loved him! So if you are a single woman out there, no worries. Hassan is safe to hire. 👌🏾Very good spirited guy who wants you to see your AC issues and give you options and why, with honesty! We had him to add a safety switch to our attic furnace to prevent a flood of our home in the event it has a leak issue. He put one on our basement attic that never was even an option. We are completely satisfied with his company and will be our main man now! He's a serious blessing to have. Thank you! Thank you!

First, check to be sure that your thermostat is set to “heat” and not “cool,” and ensure that the fan is set to “auto.” Then, check to be sure that the thermostat is set to a temperature high enough to trigger the furnace to emit heat. If your thermostat is properly set, ensure that it is getting power — check batteries, fuses and circuit breakers — and ensure that the interior components are clean. Dust and debris inside the thermostat can cause it to malfunction. Fortunately, this is usually an easy fix. In some cases, a malfunctioning thermostat may require adjustment or replacement.
