Given the broad price ranges above, it's easy to recognize that the cost of your furnace repair varies drastically based on which parts need attention. As a result, it makes sense to gain a better understanding of the parts that heat your home, and how much they cost to repair. Repairing or replacing your furnace’s blower motor can cost you anywhere between $150 and $450, depending on the extent of the damage. Heat exchanger repair costs can vary greatly, from as little as $100 for a simple fix to as much as $1,200 for a full replacement. Repairing a furnace igniter will only cost you $300 at most, while flame sensor repairs generally fall between $80 to $250. The average cost to repair your Thermostat will range from $108 to $282.
An electric furnace provides warmth by moving air over and through a series of coils. Ductwork and vents then distribute that air to the individual rooms in your home. Repair costs will depend on both the brand and the exact nature of the problem, but tend to be lower than some of the options above. That's because the units are small, and issues tend to be contained within the heating elements themselves. Expect to spend less than $300 on your electric furnace repair, depending on the exact problem.

Zach came early, which I very much appreciated, and got the job done quickly. He was unfailingly polite and took care with putting on the booties and keeping my carpet clean. He managed to get the sprinkler system turned off even though I was quite uninformed about it and could help very little beyond pointing to where things were. I am always happy to have Brothers people come out to do my plumbing, heating, & electric services.
Heat pumps that wring heat from outdoor air (and reverse the process in summer to act as an air conditioner) are inexpensive to install as an alternative to a cooling-only air-conditioning system. That makes them the preferred way to heat in the South and Southwest, where winters are typically short and mild. Heat pumps that wring heat from the ground are much more expensive to install, but they are suitable for cold climates because they can maintain their operating efficiency. Other inexpensive electric-heat options include strip heaters, which are installed in the ductwork of central air conditioning, and permanently installed baseboard units in each room. But before you consider any type of electric central heating in colder regions, keep in mind that electricity rates are much higher than those for natural gas and are likely to remain that way for the foreseeable future. You can get rate information for various fuels from local utilities and suppliers.
Any forced air system in your home - whether it is powered through electric or gas-generated energy - requires a blower motor. This component consists of an electric motor and fan, and is responsible for pushing air evenly through the furnace. As hvac.com points out, you can easily identify the blower motor in your furnace as the part that looks similar to a hamster wheel at the bottom of the unit. If it stops working, the air needed to heat your home will no longer be pushed through the furnace to be heated and distributed evenly. In that case, you need to inquire about potential repairs. Blower motor repair typically costs between $150 for a simple fix, and $450 for complete replacement and installation of the part. Where you land on that range depends on the exact damage.

If you have an older furnace with a standing pilot light, it’s possible that the pilot light has been extinguished. First, confirm that the light is out. Then, turn the gas valve to the off position and wait five minutes. If there is a reset button on your furnace, turn the valve to the pilot position and hold a flame to the dedicated pilot opening while pushing the button for about 30 seconds. (If the pilot doesn’t light on the first attempt, wait a few minutes and repeat the procedure, this time depressing the reset button for 45-60 seconds.) Once the pilot is lit, turn the gas valve back to the on position. If the pilot light won’t stay lit, it’s possible that there is an issue with the thermocouple or ignition system. Call an HVAC professional for assistance.
Furnace replacement in Denver is necessary if your furnace is broken beyond repair or if it is more than 15 years old. Old furnaces are very inefficient (they use more power and gas than newer ones) and they can even be very hazardous to your health and home. Furnaces are controlled fires, and when the control systems for said fires are out of date or malfunctioning, the safety and wellbeing of your home are in jeopardy. So if you have an old or malfunctioning heater, then give our furnace replacement company a call today.
For starters, once a year, vacuum out the area around the furnace’s blower. If possible, also slide out the fan unit, clean each fan blade with a toothbrush, and then vacuum with a brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner. While you’re at it, look for oil ports on the motor, normally located near the motor shaft. If the motor has these, apply two to three drops of non-detergent motor oil into each port (you may have to remove a cover plate to do this). Though most contemporary motors don’t require lubrication, do lubricate motors with oil ports once a year. For more about maintenance, see Maintenance Checklist for Central Heating Systems.
Hello, We have a Hunter ceiling fan that no longer spins. It has power, as the light still works and when you push the remote you hear the clicking, like it's trying to engage, but the blades do not spin. Does this sound like a possible flywheel issue? I removed the Remote Receiver, part 85112-02, and apparently it's no longer available, but I don't think the receive is the problem. Any feedback would be welcome.
Wow!!! I had a gas leak with all my kids and animals in the house in the middle of the night!!! Scary!! Jake showed up quickly after all gas was shut off and spent six hours at my house until heat worked, gas was on again and most importantly my family was safe. And all at a cost that was conscious of my intent to stay financially in the game to support my kids!!!

Gas is currently the most common heating fuel and most new central-heating systems use gas. How efficiently a furnace converts gas into heating energy is reflected in its annual fuel-utilization-efficiency (AFUE) rating, which is measured as a percentage. The higher the number, the more heat the furnace can wring from each therm of gas. Since efficient furnaces generate fewer emissions, environmental considerations might also influence your decision.
